FUn place to stop for lunch or cocktails. Popular with motorcycles and river travelers. easy to get to from road or river (small kayak/canoe launch) Great please to end a paddling trip from up or down river. Loved the fried green beans and the sangria is fabulous!
It’s worth the drive! If I lived closer, I’d proposed be there once a week.
The place is overpriced on food. The service isn't that great.
The food is good, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff has always been super friendly.
A hidden gem. Perfect afternoon stop for lunch. Excellent prices on food and drink. All day canoe rental prices are better than most state parks. Recommended.
Not just a cafe, you can rent canoes from here and go down the river. They have a couple different options and we did the 10 mile one which is a 4 hour float time. 2 weeks ago we called and reserved our canoes for yesterday, we asked if the water level was good because about 5 or 6 years ago we had come here and the water level was so low we had to carry the canoes, they said the water level was good so we reserved our spot. We get there the day before our reservation to make sure everything was good and it was, we asked another person to double check that the water level was good and they said yes. The next morning we arrived and asked one more time and a different person because my mom has problems walking and has had 4 back surgeries and dead nerves and my dad has had two shoulder surgeries and my sister has an injured knee, they reassured us that the water was fine and they took us up river we asked the guy who brought us up for directions cause there's a couple times the river goes two different ways. He said he's never been down it (but he worked there?!?!?) but people have said just go straight. They/he was wrong. There was a moment we continued to go straight and we came up on a tree completely stretched across and no water on the other side. All of us had to turn around (3 canoes) and go back and go another way that was not the "straight" way he told us to go. On top of this the water was not at a good level as we ended up having to carry our canoes (AGAIN!!!!) about 4 miles or more what was supposed to take us a at the most 4 hour trip took us 7 because we had to walk through 4 inch water with a bunch of sharp huge rocks and trees carrying canoes in gator and snake infested water. NOT HAPPY!!!!!!!!
What a gem of a place!
